Bio
Dearbhla Kelly discovered yoga 14 years ago while studying for a philosophy degree in Amsterdam. She returned to her hometown of Dublin to complete her M.A. and deepen her practice. In 2001 she relocated to Chicago to pursue her Ph.D, and teach yoga. She currently lives and practices in Los Angeles.
Dearbhla's teaching is influenced by her studies of Forrest Yoga with Ana Forrest, Anusara with Anthony Benenati, Yin Yoga with Denise Kaufman, bhakti-infused vinyasa with Saul David Raye and Yoga Nidra with master teacher Richard Miller. She is currently establishing a yoga program for troops with post-traumatic stress disorder at the VA Center in Los Angeles.
The yoga Dearbhla loves cultivates compassion, radiates calm, and celebrates play. Her teaching hopes to inspire these qualities in others. Her philosophical training has given her insight into the more esoteric aspects of yoga, as her heart moves toward integration and self-knowledge.
